I have been working with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic on an almost weekly basis since 2009. A registered not-for-profit organization, they are dedicated to introducing classical music to as many people as possible and so their look changes quite often. My challenge has been to meet the brief to appeal to new and diverse audiences while still maintaining brand integrity.

Kearsney College approached me to create a logo for the music department that would fit in with the school’s historic identity yet still translate as vibrant and current. The choir – a multi-cultural entity with a commitment to perform and promote the indigenous music of our country and the rest of the continent – is the department’s most well known product.

Its purpose, through education initiatives, natural building methods and lifestyle, is to show that conscious living is simple, logical and rewarding. What started off as an experimental venture is flourishing under the care of a man I’m proud to call family.
In 2012 South African musician Rowan Stuart approached me to design the artwork for his 3rd studio release. Light in Cages is a concept album, in which Rowan took a departure from the easy-listening sounds of the past, to explore the darker, more intense corners of his musical imagination.
